Join us for an insightful discussion about individual cognitive differences and how to apply them in your lifestyle medicine practice. Several major constructs are consistently demonstrated in health behavior theory and applied in evidence based counseling, such as readiness to change, self efficacy, personal beliefs, social/environmental influencers. Yet the lifestyle medicine community continues to be challenged to facilitate effective, sustainable behavior change. Hence innovation in tailored approaches is needed. This session will review the key evidence based constructs for facilitating behavior change and introduce a new framework that builds on them, integrating positive psychology, strength based approaches and neuroscience. The audience will participate in case exercises and learn how to enhance traditional coaching skills with these leading edge constructs.
