Listen To Your Heart: Turning Physiological Data Into Lifestyle Guidelines

The heart is regulated by the autonomic nervous system, beat-by-beat, to respond to the body’s changing needs. By measuring heartbeats and analyzing heart rate variability (HRV), we get a vast amount of data about human physiology, such as autonomic balance, respiration and oxygen uptake. By integrating this data into mathematical algorithms it is possible to create a digital model of the body’s physiological functions and use it to evaluate stress reactions, recovery, sleep quality and physical activity in daily life. This constitutes a powerful preventative approach to lifestyle management - integrating real-life physiological data into practice and helping people take charge of their own health and well-being by offering individually meaningful insights about lifestyle. In this presentation I will discuss the background of how HRV analysis can be utilized in lifestyle coaching and share the main findings and lifestyle trends based on a database of over 180 000 measured days.
